Earlier in April this year I had a loved one make an attempt at ending their life, and whilst I still find it difficult to discuss some days I promised myself at the time I wouldn't hide the fact that it had happened. Initially I found myself wondering if I could have prevented it, if I could have done more. The answer is no, I couldn't have prevented it, and I did what was best at the time.
The reason I am writing about this now is because I feel that depression is still a subject that some people do not feel comfortable talking about, yet we probably all know someone who has suffered depression. There are some great support networks out there for not only people suffering depression but for their loved ones aswell.
